A few things you should know about us...

Who we are
  BENEFIT SUPPORT, INC. (BSI) is a Georgia Corporation, with our headquarters in Gainesville. We function as a Third Party Administrator (TPA) for employers maintaining benefit plans for their employees. BSI’s focus has always been the professional and efficient administration of employer sponsored benefit plans. Our fully insured clientele begins at 2 employees and the self-funded groups begin with 25 employees. 


How we started
  Founded originally in 1985 in Atlanta, BSI was re-located to Gainesville in 1988. Our client base, many of whom have been clients from the inception of the company, is comprised of single employer groups including manufacturing organizations, professional service employers, educational institutions, and several municipal employers. BSI was one of the first, and is still one of a very few, TPAs to apply for and receive a TPA license from the Georgia Insurance Commissioner. For the protection of our clients, we carry an Errors and Omissions Policy which was designed especially for TPAs. Additionally, BSI maintains membership in several professional organizations including the Society of Professional Benefit Administrators, the Self Insurance Institute of America, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and the National Association of Health Underwriters. 

What we do
  In addition to the administration of medical and dental claims, we provide COBRA administration, and a limited Cafeteria (Section 125) administration, along with consulting services.

All medical and dental claims are adjudicated and checks printed from our headquarters in Gainesville. We negotiate a production schedule with each client and claims turnaround time is based on that schedule. For example, if the client desires weekly processing (our preferred scheduling) all claims are adjudicated and checks mailed on that basis. The administration and claims systems are fully computerized with both eligibility and claims history being maintained on-line. 

We are actively involved in cost containment and work closely with our Utilization Review/Large Case Management and Hospital/Audit vendors as well as our Preferred Provider partners to obtain the most effective services and pricing for our clients. Our online Reasonable & Customary Guidelines and Allowances are provided by MDR and updated semi-annually. BSI utilizes the Trilogy Consulting Group Claims Administration Handbook. We provide a detailed monthly list billing comprising all elements of the employer’s plan, as well as, a series of management reports detailing all aspects of plan performance and funding.
